Some ideas take time to come to life – and sometimes, the journey isn’t straightforward. This was the case with the Leggera dressage saddle. Back in 2016, Saddle Me envisioned a saddle tree designed to be shorter for the horse while still offering the rider a full seat size. The idea was there, but the timing wasn’t right, and a collaboration with Prestige didn’t materialize at first.

By 2018, everything aligned. Our long-standing partner, the Euroriding purchasing association, was ready to take the next step. Together, we launched a groundbreaking project: the Euroriding Leggera with Lumbar Free Technology. True to its Italian name, meaning “lightness,” the Leggera embodies freedom and innovation.

Its patented saddle tree features a rear section separated from the main tree, equipped with an active spring mechanism. This ingenious design lifts the rider out of the saddle’s regular level for around 80% of the ride, with only 20% of the time applying the full seat size to the horse’s back. The result? A revolutionary saddle that adapts perfectly to the needs of today’s shorter, modern sport horses.
