Saddle Me Engelke

I am Carsten Engelke and comes from an old breeder and equestrian family from Hanover. I was drawn to professional sports at an early age. My ambitions in show jumping were actually clear — but without the right horses, my path took me in a different direction: I specialized early on in the correction and training of difficult, supposedly “undeniable” horses.

The need to find a way back to harmony and performance with these horses gave rise to a deep understanding of the connections between horse riding, health, veterinary medicine, saddlery and all the equipment. After working in business, I was able to 2000 Take over an existing but insolvent equestrian business — and thus for the first time had the opportunity to directly influence horse-related products.

2005 was created with the D1 my first completely self-developed saddle, made by Prestige Italia — still an important partner for many other models. This was followed by a long series of my own patents and developments, which I always tested on and with my own horses for quality, function and comfort. My developments have been carried out three times with the Innovation Award honored by the German equestrian industry.

Over the years, I have been able to accompany countless horses and riders — on their way to better riding, international successes and medals, but often also back into sport after long health problems. After almost four years as head of development at Prestige in Italy, 2015 The time has come to concentrate completely on what drives me the most: the Development and adjustment of saddles.

Together with my wife Madelene I have Saddle Me founded. Since then, we have been setting new standards in saddle fitting — and took the next step in 2022: With the founding of Saddle Me Franchise Company Our knowledge, approach and the work of our development department have become available nationally and internationally. New products, close cooperation with various universities and a fundamentally modern view of saddle fitting ensure that more and more horses and riders benefit from solutions that really fit — in movement, in training and in the long term in everyday life.
